Week of April 9-13

PREDICTIONS
The following questions keep the reader engaged in the story. These questions make us want to turn the page. They result is tension, a key element in any story worth reading.
1)Will Rosa and Hans survive the war?
2) Will the Nazis capture Max?
3) Will Liesel accidentally betray Max?
4) Will Rudy be a hero?
5) Will there be serious consequences from Liesel's last encounter with the mayor's wife?

Try to answer the above questions based on what you already know about the characters and the situation. Save your answers and when we finish the book, see if you were right or not.

We discussed whether or not Hans Hubermann was a coward. Some thought he was anything but a coward, and called him a hero. Write about an everyday act of heroism that you have witnessed. What made the actions heroic?

Monday:
Fill out pink paper with Log of Final Project progress. (20 points) Depending on which project you chose, you should have at least 5 or 6 diary entries, draft of poem/s or short story, script, interview questions and answers, at least one finished report on ethnic cleansing, underground resistance, etc.

Wednesday: Make-up Vocabulary #8 Test: Lunch or Enrichment

Finish Part Five to pp. 303.
Begin Part Six: pp 303-350

Prepare for Vocabulary Test: Friday, April 13.
